William Carlos Williams described a poem as a “machine made out of words.” Groove is a proposed installation compose of 21 kinetic sculptures, one for each poem where Emily Dickinson uses the word “brain.” I attempted to reconstruct the physical mechanics of these poems, both visual and poetic, using the language of 19th century American industrial architecture.
