My Companion Species

A series of 42 watercolor monoprints, A3

In my 2018 series, My Companion Species, I made monoprints of wild plants I found in London. I know these plants and share a history with them. I used to baby struggling campanulas in my New York garden but find them bursting from every crack along my Camden street. Samphire, on the salt flats of Hastings, is the same as the Cape Cod sea pickle of my childhood. The title is pinched from Donna Haraway’s polemic on the biosociality, The Companion Species Manifesto.
